Holcim is a large company worldwide in cement production. A multicommodity production and flow problem is implemented in LPL and is used as a back-engine in strategic planning of production and distribution.

The Federal Food Supply Office of Switzerland uses a decision support system in regard to changes of the domestic food production, processing and stockpiling. The basic model is a large multi-objective LP formulated in LPL.

HP France and ABB Finnland bought LPL and integrate its functionality into their planning optimisation tools.

Various research institutions use LPL to build large scale mathematical models (FAT, Institute for Agricultural Development at the ETH Zurich , Department for Informatics at the University of Fribourg).

LPL is also integrated in various research projects (Dicodess, Vilola, and others) and is used world-wide at Universities to teach optimisation and modelling techniques.
